On the Horizon!

"The Heartbeat of the Mountain", my latest story, is currently making the rounds of literary agents. The book is a YA (young adult) novel, set in 1912´s Muncy Valley, PA. It takes Luvella Andersson, 16, on a rocky ride through disaster, intrigue, and culture shock as she pursues her goal. She deals with the beautiful traditions and beliefs of the Muncie Indians, the hatred of some whites for those Indians, the ignorance and lack of foresight of the Valley merchants she's trying to help, and with her own often impetuous behavior.

"The Special Delivery Games and Cookbook" is my mid-grades activity and cookbook work-in-progress, with a story for every deliveryman housewives had in the Depression Era (ice man, bread man, milk man...) This book is full of the games children played in the 1930s and 1940s and has recipes actually made and served in those days. The recipes are all related to a children´s party menu and accompanied by suitable games for the guests. This will be a fun party with historical significance and delicious food.

Another YA historical novel is in the works, which means that I´m still thinking through the plot and doing some research for it. I do know it will take place in Auburn, NY in the year 1929 and I´m pretty excited about what our female protagonist will get herself into.
